Disaster Relief (Mudout teams needed)
We have received the following message from Terry Raines who coordinates the disaster relief efforts for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.
Dear Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief Volunteers: Many of you have been following the news of flooding in the Midwest. And, many have asked about needs and opportunities to help with these needs. With flooding, the time for “the masses” to help with clean up recovery efforts comes later, after the waters have receded and things begin to dry. This time is now at hand. Teams of volunteers are now needed to help!
Examples of current needs can be seen below. If you are able to recruit a team and/or go personally to help during either of the next two weeks, please contact our office (phone number below). You can speak with Jeannette Hildebrand, Nichole Bulls or myself. We will be happy to contact our colleagues in the affected states and make arrangements for your service.

New Sunday School Classes
We have begun two new classes during the second Sunday School hour (11:15 AM - 12:15 PM) Joan & Jesse Stalnaker are be teaching a coed class for those in their 30’s and are meeting in Room 243. Ray Owens is teaching a “New Member” Class. This is a four week rotation class (meeting in Room 240) that is strongly suggested for all those who have either - Joined our church from another church - Are new believers or -Just interested in knowing what we believe. Ray has adapted material from Adrian
Rogers’ writing on “What Every Christian Ought to Know”. This class will recycle every four weeks so anyone can drop in at any point and get all the lessons. If you have any questions concerning these new offerings please contact Ray in the church office.

Women on Mission
Our women meet in the Conference Room on the second Monday of each month at 10 AM for this
special mission emphasis that includes not only inspirational stories of what is going on in the world but planning for the involvement of our church for the future.
